Our in-house label To Be Announced teamed up with JIMOJUNK, an art space curated by graphic designer Jimena Montemayor, for a special project / photo shoot using the pre-spring mini collection that just hit stores + Solestruck. Shocker, shocker – it’s awesome. Take a peek below of the incredible imagery Jimo and photographer Diggy Lloyd created for us:
Description from the artist:
“Shot by photographer Diggy Lloyd as I had mentioned to you before, I wore a transparent plastic parka which I custom altered and installed a ‘PLAGA’ on. PLAGA (which stands for plague in Spanish) is one of my art installation pieces and represents an art manifesto that promotes the visual power of line and color. It is created, reproduced and spread through these two basic art elements which take over a surface forming a geometric body. On a basis of conected triangles with all types of angles, the lines and their color radiate a visual energy, giving life to naked spaces. I normally install them on walls, ceilings or floors (they are made with artist tape or gaffer tape) but there is really no limit to them. PLAGAS can grow anywhere.
For our collaboration I wanted to incorporate ‘plagas’ into my wardrobe with the shoes to match and simulate one myself. I stood in front of a wall with the same purpose; to radiate energy wearing my TBAs, all together as one. I then added some digital illustrations to compliment the body photographs and also included more close up shots of the shoes. We went for black and white, we thought it have the images and shoes a much stronger look.”
