Have you ever seen a random shoe on the side of the road and wondered, where did that come from? How did it get here? Who did it belong to?

If you have, you’re not the only one. In fact, Jamie McGlothlin was intrigued enough by the concept to devote an entire website to it. It’s called “Lost Soles of the Highway,” and it includes two pages full of pictures (see a few examples below), another with a number of theories of these lost soles came to be, and a guestbook. Site goers are also encouraged to email the webmaster with their own photos, theories and experiences.
