1) In 2010, I made a list of “35 Things I Will do this year”. I completed 19 of them – no small feat!! In 2011, I will make this list again, only I *will* conquer every single item. This is my year to have a fancier wardrobe, learn how to do a cartwheel, ride on the back of a motorcycle and FINALLY see “Citizen Kane”. 2011 will ROCK.
2) Size 7.
3) Completed!

1) I am normally very influenced by winter, with days becoming shorter, darker etc. and I sleep A LOT. This year my New Year’s Resolution is to GET OUT of the house, go to all the parties I’m invited to, whether it be a baby shower or a cocktail party…suck it up, put on a dress and a cute pair of shoes and go! Basically, kick winter in the ass and have a good time, despite living in frozen Nebraska. I definately think owning these shoes goes right along with my resolution! Wouldn’t you agree?

Thanks so much for the give-a-way! I can feel it, 2011 is going to be big for me. I have been working my bum off trying to jump start my styling career, so I plan for all my blood sweat and tears to pay off. I also plan to take classes in web development and html formatting so I can really take my blog to next level. In what little spare time that I plan to have, I would love to squeeze in a trip to Japan for a little added inspiration. 2011 is going to great!

Hey Sloestruck I love your collection of shoes but not only do i love the collection i am in love with the Matiko shoes! Fresh, funky and flirty, but especially for a 2011 shoe lover from LA we have to have the best. Some of my main aspirations for 2011 would be to conquer my biggest fears like riding an upside down roller coaster (NEVER done it!) and be able to go sky diving, and most of all to have at least ONE person in the year of 2011 be inspired by something I have done, artistically, physically or mentally. That would certainly top my year, and be able to say I have made someone smile and hope they can achieve anything! Happy Holidays Solestruck, hope to hear from you soon!!

My goal for 2011 is to loosen the grip I’ve got on my own life a bit. Work less, enjoy life more. Travel more, go out with my friends more, go out to a museum or a garden, shows, parties, art galleries, pursue my hobbies more, and just generally get into a rhythm of life that is more relaxed, fun, and enjoyable. I’ve got the rest of my life to be super serious, 2011 is going to be about enjoying the world around me.

I actually made up a NY resolution a couple of days ago before I even knew about this contest! Here it goes:
I love splurging on shoes and whenever i see that some cute shoes are sold for a very low price, I always get them and end up with tons of cheap bad quality stuff I’m embarassed to wear afterwards:D
My next year’s resolution is to carefully choose and buy only one pair of expensive high quality shoes per month and that’s it
This may seem like a stupid resolution but anyways, this is what I need now xxx

2010 was easily one of the hardest years of my young adult life. Getting out of an abusive relationship, moving home, quitting both of my jobs, and taking time off school all to regain mental and physical health. Along the way I lost my best friend to a tragic accident. Without continuing a sob story I have realized one thing. It is only 1 year of my life, and I will live past all of my problems; 2011 is just the year to do that. If there is anything positive to learn it is that of an article my grandmother gave me…
“Today is what we have. Yesterday will never return and tomorrow is never guaranteed”
…to me it says strive and hope for the best, but live life today in each and every moment, never regretting and be ok with who you are.
So for 2011, I will not guarantee perfection, but I will strive for the goals I set out to make a brighter year, knowing that today is what I have, and I am thankful!
Thank you for reading my lengthy response

2010 was a life changing year.
At the start of fall I sat at my desk painting, dreaming about my ideal fall wardrobe. I dreamed of being a full-time artist with a tiny studio where I would make lovely art, and wear my quirky fashions usually reserved for weekends, everyday. I drop my paint brush, and while picking it up bump my chest on the edge of my desk only to discover a large lump. ‘I’m only 28, is this really happening?’ – Thoughts of the life I hadn’t yet lived flashed through my head. After doctor visits, a biopsy, surgery, and the agonizing wait for a diagnosis, (noncancerous. phew!) I made a decision – I was going to live the best life I possibly could!
2011 is a new chapter.
I’m going to break out those size 8.5 platform wedges I usually only wear on weekends, breath in the lovely air, and smile. I’m going to be confident in my expression of fashion and art, and most of all have fun! I’m walking into 2011 in the shoes of someone else, the new me with a new take on life!

I hate that I have to go to the ARMY to keep my dreams going but the recession and LIVING HOME WITH MY PARENTS haven’t left me much of a choice

Hey solestruck!
In 2011 my plans are to rock my last year of high school!
I don’t know about you guys, but here in Australia the last year of high school is our most important year of schooling, as the end mark we receive of all of our subjects together determines if we get into the university course we desire. So it is the pretty much “make all” or “break all” year. Needless to say a very busy year ahead of me.
But I know no matter how stressed I am, how tired I am or how drained I am next year, if you choose to kindly pick me as one of your winners, next year will be a little more bearable wearing a fabulous pair of Matiko shoes!
good luck with your decision making and happy new year!

1) In 2011, I’d like to save enough money to bless people with, because I believe that I’m blessed to be a blessing.
I also want to go on a 10 day tour in Israel, which I intend to save up for because I think I’ll value the trip more if I pay for it myself instead of just getting my parents to pay for it. Concerning my studies, I want to top my cohort with the highest grade point average! People say it’s impossible but I take that as a challenge.
Lastly, I just want to impact the people around me, be it in big ways or small ways (like supporting them when they go through heartache or even just telling a joke to make them laugh). I used to think that if I want to make myself happy, I have to live for myself all the time. But I realised recently that what really makes me happy is seeing other people happy and knowing that I had a part to play in that.
2011 is going to be the best year yet!
2) US Size 7
3) Done! (Mine says: I’d really like a pair of MATIKOS because I want my Cinderella Fairytale coming true this 2011, and we all know that what really changed that girl’s life was a beautiful pair of SHOES.)

Hello! My New Year’s Resolutions are not so much for 2011, but focusing my life towards greater happiness and fulfillment.
This includes:
Taking good care of my health
Losing fear, fear is what holds you back!
Making sure my loved ones (family and friends and pets) know they are loved
Saving money
Doing something creative every day
Inspiring others
Being stylish and individual every single day. It’s not easy being a fossil preparator (my job) in a dusty lab or wielding a jack-hammer when I’m out on a field expedition, but I will do so with coordination, focus, strength, and STYLE.
My ABC’s: Always Be Creative, and Wear Incredible Boots, Shoes. Mine are a size 9!
Be stylish, have fun in 2011!

This year will be a big change for me. I retired from work and now I am free to do what I really want! One of the many things I want to do is to start a fashion blog for boomers. Just because we are no longer young doesn’t mean we don’t care about fashion. I want to still be seen as a cool woman! I love the studded flats. Really cool!
My size is 7.5.

In 2011 I want to learn to balance my rational character that so desperately wants to plan for the future, and my desire to live in the moment and cherish all of my life’s daily wonders. Manifestations of these goals will take the tangible forms of 1. Applying for Graduate School, 2. Moving to a new state and city with the boyfriend in tow, 3. Getting my first tattoo, which is specifically designed around one moment I already cherish and will never forget, and 4. Spending more time developing my photography/darkroom skills by taking one photo a day that reminds me of the beautiful moments I so often forget about.
I hope 2011 is the best year yet!
