8 fuh-reaking months after seeing Spring/Summer collections, the glorious season is finally upon us. And we know you rely on us to tell you what’s up. Because we know you’re lazy. Asshole. So, we’ve picked out our favorite trends for Summer right off the runway. Advice for the sensible baller, inspiration for my homies who lack financial capital.
White on white on white (no racist). From Kanye to the new Pope, crisp white is screaming “death to color!” PS: white cut-off jeans are still a unanimous no-no though.
(Calvin Klein Collection, Kenzo, Rick Owens)
Let’s take the gym look to the runway, and make it completely un-functional! Mixing the athlete touch into street looks is everywhere these days. Even the big brands are following suit, telling you to throw on your runners and hit the streets my dudes.
Every fucking time I put a sandal on instagram, some woman screams in terror and says “NO!!! MEN CANNOT WEAR SANDALS!!!!!” Well, tell that chick to pick up one of her precious fashion magazines and see the light: Sandals are chic, and we’re going to wear them. Brothers, this is the revolution! Let the toes breath! Be warned, the condition of your toes will be judged… I’m serious.
SHOW SOME LEG
(Mugler, JW Anderson, Raf Simons)
Slut it up and show some serious leg. If you are not slightly uncomfortable with how short your shorts are, you are not doing it right.
(Versace, Dries Van Noten, Miharayasuhiro)
Prints and Spring are about as hand in hand as two gays having brunch in San Fransisco. But for men? Now that’s a relatively new story–especially when done as psychotic-like as designers have been enjoying as of late. Florals are still in. Camo is still in. Animal prints are still in. Are you in?
MY FAVORITE RANDOM MOMENTS.
1. Davidelfin made the perfect kind of suit for me.
2. Carlo Pignatelli put him in a dress, and he puffed down the runway.
3. John Galliano got high. Very high.
4. Burberry pissed everyone off, and won me over.
VIVA SPRING 2013. IT’S NEVER BEEN BETTER TO BE MEN IN MUTHAFUCKIN FASHIN.
